2. It is not permissible to elect or transfer any person for full membership unless the board has made sure of the following conditions:

a) The candidate’s age must not be less than twenty-six years.

b) He must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Khartoum or its equivalent; and must be a principle member in an institution or an engineering society recognized by the Society.

c) At the time of application for Full Membership, the candidate must be, in a manner acceptable to the board, working in designing or executing works that are included in the sphere of the engineering profession; in addition, for the sake of this clause, the candidate who teaches engineering sciences or performs engineering research in a university or technical college or research institute recognized by the board shall be considered as working in designing engineering works.

3. Full membership will be granted to engineers who have not obtained the academic qualifications stipulated in Article 10 (1) b, but according to their practice of an engineering profession for a long period and their professional achievements, they can be elected after presenting samples of these achievements, which will be evaluated after review by three of the principle members.

4. Without prejudice to what was stipulated in Article 10, every candidate for full membership must prove that he obtained training under control conditions, for not less than two years, in designing and executing works under the supervision of a collegiate member or an engineer with an equivalent degree, in a manner acceptable to the board.

5. It is possible for the board to ask any candidate for full membership to pass a professional examination in the presence of any sub0committee formed by the board to make sure that the candidate has acquired the suitable scientific experience in designing works that enter the sphere of the engineering profession.
